Description:  Uses: Produced by the adrenal gland, DHEA is a precursor to estrogen and testosterone. Clinical trials have shown DHEA to be effective in treating major depression, schizophrenia induced anxiety, lupus, osteoporosis, erectile dysfunction, and Addison's disease. DHEA should be avoided in patients with prostate cancer and in patients with estrogen receptor positive breast cancer. It should also be used cautiously in patients with diabetes.
