Homeopathic Medicines Used in Mesotherapy

Homeopathic medicine is an area of medicine that was developed over two-hundred years ago. Dr. Samuel Hahnemann is generally acknowledged as the founder and developer of homeopathy. The field of homeopathic medicine is based on the premise that the body can be stimulated to heal itself of a disease by the activation of its own immune system through ingestion of a medicinal substance that causes symptoms similar to the disease.

Mesotherapy is a cutting edge non-surgical cosmetic technique used for cellulite treatment, liposculpting, and body contouring. The technique employs multiple injections of pharmaceutical and homeopathic medicine, plant extracts, and vitamins into the subcutaneous fat. Mesotherapy injections are purported to target adipose (fat) cells, apparently by inducing rupture and cell death.

Miniscule amounts of homeopathic medications are prepared using the process of successive dilution with alcohol or by trituration with lactose. The resulting dilutions are identified by the letters X or D. These medications are diluted by a factor of either 10 or 100. Dilutions denoted as "D" are prepared by performing serial 1:10 dilutions 30 times and are referred to as decimal solutions. Dilutions denoted as "C" are prepared by performing serial 1:100 dilution 30 times and are referred to as centesimal solutions.
